This privacy policy describes how Crop Doctor ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use our mobile and web application VVF CropDoctor (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Personal Information: This may include your name, email address, phone number, and other information you provide when you create an account or use the App.
• Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the App, such as the features you use, the pages you visit, and the time and date of your interactions.
• Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the App, such as the device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
• Location Information: With your permission, we collect your device's precise location (GPS latitude/longitude). We use it to retrieve accurate local weather for your plant or crop diagnosis, and to pin the location of a farm, garden or plant that you choose to save. Granting location is optional — if you decline, the App still works and uses the city/region from your profile for weather instead. Coordinates you save on a farm or plant are stored with that record and can be removed at any time using the "Clear location" option in the App. On the web version, your coordinates may be sent to a third-party reverse-geocoding service (BigDataCloud) to convert them into a city/region name; no other personal data is shared with it.
• Audio, Photo and Video: You may choose to upload photo, audio and video through the App to obtain a diagnosis and to share with your agriculture consultant. These are stored securely and are only accessible to authorized personnel.
• Voice Input (Speech-to-Text): If you use the optional microphone button to dictate a question, your speech is processed by your device's built-in speech-recognition service (provided by Apple on iOS or Google on Android, which may process audio on their servers) to convert it to text. CropDoctor does not record or store the audio — only the transcribed text you submit. Voice input is optional; you can always type instead.
• Other Information: We may collect other information with your consent or as otherwise permitted by law.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• To provide and improve the App: We use your information to operate the App, personalize your experience, and improve the App's functionality.
• To provide accurate local weather: We use your location — either your device's precise GPS coordinates (with permission) or the city/region in your profile — to retrieve current and forecast weather for your area and factor it into your diagnosis.
• To facilitate communication: We use your information, including uploaded media, to enable communication between you and your agriculture consultant.
• To communicate with you: We may use your information to send you updates, notifications, and other communications related to the App.
• To protect our rights and interests: We may use your information to protect our rights and interests, such as by preventing fraud and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations: We may use your information to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

3. Sharing Your Information

We may share your information with the following third parties:

• Service Providers: We may share your information with service providers who assist us in operating the App, such as cloud hosting, AI diagnosis and analytics providers.
• Weather Provider: To return local weather, we send coordinates (your device's location or your profile city/region) to our weather data provider. We do not send them your name or contact details.
• Agriculture Consultants: If you request a consultation, the relevant diagnosis and any media you share will be accessible to your designated agriculture consultant to provide advice and support.
• Legal Authorities: We may share your information with legal authorities if required by law or to protect our rights or interests.

4. Your Choices

You have the following choices regarding your information:

• Access and Update: You can access and update your personal information in the App's settings.
• Location: You can grant or revoke location access at any time in your device settings, and remove coordinates saved on a farm or plant using the "Clear location" option in the App. Denying location does not prevent you from using the App.
• Delete: You can delete your account and associated data in the App, or request deletion by contacting us at srini@cropdoctor.ai.
• Opt-Out: You can opt out of marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in our emails or by contacting us at srini@cropdoctor.ai.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no security system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at srini@cropdoctor.ai.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this privacy policy periodically for any changes.
